Republicans party has become the “Almond Joy Party”. Sometime they
act like a nut and sometime they don’t.
Editorial

Attitudes toward African-Americans have worsened since
2008, research finds
Before
the Presidential election of 2012 I was asked by a young white woman if I
thought that racial prejudice was a thing of the past since President Obama had
been voted into the office of the Presidential. My comment to her was hell no
nothing had changed. She was under the impression that since a president of
color had been voted into office that indicated that America had changed and
everything was ok between the races.
We had a
long discussion about our observations of what was happening and how things had
changed. In her mind she really believed America had turned the corner on the
thing that had divided our nation since its birth. I can see how she arrived at that conclusion,
the nation had just elected President Obama in 2008 and he was coming to the
end of his first term. Republicans in Washington, D.C. were basking in their
glory of blocking everything President Obama tried to do where possible. We
know this by their actions and all of the statements some made on the Senate
floor in open session.
Keep in
mind President Obama had been left the biggest mess any president had ever had
with the exception of perhaps President Lincoln and the civil war mess. All of
the major financial systems were on the verge of crashing. Housing was blowing
up because Wall Street and banks were in bed together; insurance companies were
teetering on bank rupture, the automobile industry was almost belly up.
Unemployment was rising rapidly we were losing more than seven hundred thousand
jobs per month. Things were bad real bad and about to really blow up.
Republicans didn’t want to do any TARP funding to help right the American
economy. Everybody wanted to blame him for everything going wrong most had
forgotten about the last President and his actions or lack thereof.
I have
gotten off the track, let me get back on track the real reasons so many white
Republicans hate President Obama is the color of his skin nothing else. I am
saying these people are race hater, always have been and always will be nothing
will ever change them but death. Not that I am advocating this for anyone
certainly not Republicans. At some point we all will meet our maker. There are
some Republicans who are not race hater just a difference of opinion they are
clearly entitled to have their wrong opinion that ok. The big lie about raising
taxes on the wealth creator will stop the economy from growing. However, if you
look at the records of Republican Presidents you will discover that during
their tenure very few jobs were created and looking at Democrats Presidents you
will see just the opposite. During President Clinton’s Presidencies he balanced
the budget by raising tax on the Job creators (Rich guys). By doing this he
created twenty millions jobs, unemployment was extremely low during his watch
he clearly busted the myth about job creators. The real truth is these so call
job creators don’t create jobs at all they may create a few jobs off shore by
storing their money in offshore banks but that all. No jobs are created in America
by these jobs creators. That lie has been truly debunked by anyone who cares to
listen. I know Republicans don’t want to be confused by the facts.
This is a
man of color who almost single handed save the free world of course, he had the
help of fellow Democrats but very few to no Republicans. After TARP funding
passed the people who were at the head of the line to get some of TARP funding;
were some of these same Republicans who voted against it. Can you believe these
guys? What a bunch of hypocrites, they want to have it both ways. Oh by the
way, these are the same people who are and were invested in the stock market.
If you recall the stock market was on the verge of crashing thereby losing most
of your investment. So why are Republicans so full of hate for the President
who saved them from jumping off the cliff? I don’t understand Republicans and I
guess I never will. I do wish they would get their heads out of their butts and
join the rest of us. America has changed and continue to change we are a
growing nation of people of color. The Slave Holding Class is dead and gone,
thank god.
Norquist slams latest tax pledge defector
Who is
anti-Tax lobbyist Grover Norquist? And why is he one of the Republicans top
stars who have never been elected to a public office. Most Republicans members
of States and National elected leaders have sign this pledge. There seem to be
a break in the number of national Republicans leaders who are breaking with
this anti-tax pledge. The number of Republicans who sign Grover Norquist tax
pledge has been dropping because a few of them has seen the writing on the
wall.
Senator
Chambliss of Georgia hasn’t been reading the tea leaves. Did he vote for the
two wars, Medicare prescriptions plan and tax cut for the top 2%? Did the congress
identify where the funding was going to come from. My guess at this point is
since this all occurred under President George Bush watch he did. He has the
nerve to say he didn’t want to vote for higher taxes to pay for Obama-sized
government. Why didn’t he have this concern when he was voting for all of these
big budgets busting items and didn’t pay for any of them? I know that Senator
Chambliss endorsed the Ryan Budget boy what a mess. Just for his edification
the tax and budget under President Obama has been lower just as Republicans
claim they are not. You can’t balance the budget by cutting taxes along. At no
time in our history have we been able to achieve this. In times past when
Republicans still understand how the budget works they supported Republicans
Presidents to help get the country through tough times.
The
Fiscal Cliff is a mess the congress imposed on itself because they were to
ineffective to reach a deal last year if you recall the debacle last summer.
These guys and gals got together and setup this whole process supposedly they
did this to force themselves to come to agreement even though they couldn’t
last summer. Congress is a group of people who have forgotten who they work
for. The think they work for big money and the people be dam.
Let me be
clear the debt is not the problem it is a problem. Jobs are the real problem,
workers needs them so they can contribute to the treasury. Republican are not
aware of the real problem nor do they care. Folk never, never ever trust
anything that comes out the mouth of a Republicans. We have seen at every level
of government that Republicans will say anything to get elected once they are
in office they quickly forget what they said earlier. Do anyone remember
Governor (R) Mitt Romney they don’t stand for anything but big business and the
two percent. If you are in one of those groups you are in great shape if not we
are in trouble. What happening is we must always be on our guard if we don’t
vote Republicans out of office and keep them out of office we will always be in
trouble? These guys and gals don’t have your best interest at heart. Yes I know
they come to you with a sweet song that disguises their real agenda. These
republicans have been become experts at lying to the people and master at spin.

Buyers: Buying Again After a Foreclosure or Short Sale
These
buyers are homeowners who have gone through a very traumatic experience dealing
with either foreclosure or short sale. The period of time to be able to get
back into buying a new home vary between the two process and the number of
potential buyers will jump to 1.5 million by the first quarter in 2014. The
time line is all depend on the lender. If you were current or extenuating
circumstances of course your lender will decide if you are qualified
extenuating circumstances. Also the buyer must have good credit scores. The
storm never lasts forever be prepared by paying all of your bills on time and
payoff as many as possible.
90 Million Workers Won't Be Needed By 2020, Study Says
What does
this means for future workers? If you are what they classify medium skill
workers the world will need 45 million workers. If you are a high skill worker
with a college degree 40 million workers will be needed according to the study.
What all of this means is if you are thinking about attending college let this
be an early warning order please, do so as soon as possible. I realized
attending college or university is a very expensive proposition. According to
the study released by the McKinsey Global Institute my recommendation to all
young people get your education it will be need on or before 2020 to qualify
for a career.

COLLEGE STUDENT GRANTED RESTRAINING ORDER AGAINST OWN
PARENTS FOR BEING OVERBEARING — BUT WAIT UNTIL YOU HEAR THE DETAILS
Posted
on December 28, 2012 at 8:53am by
Jonathon M. Seid
Editor’s
note — We’ll be discussing this story and all the day’s news during our live
BlazeCast from 1pm-2pm ET…including your questions, comments & live chat:
Are you a parent? Has your child
ever accused you of meddling? While such accusations are many times levied on a
whim, you may want to pay attention to this story and weigh in. There’s a term
out there called “helicopter parents” — moms and dads who do more than just take
an interest in their kids, but try to dictate their every move, take an
interest in every detail, and even live vicariously through their sons and
daughters. Twenty-one year old Aubrey Ireland knows the type full well. That’s
because she just won a restraining order case against her parents who have
taken the idea of being involved to a whole new extreme.
Aubrey is a senior
actress at the University of Cincinnati’s prestigious College-Conservatory
of Music. This fall, she finally had it with her overbearing parents. The
school was tired of it, too, having witnessed the odd behavior for years. After
Aubrey filed a civil stalking case against them and the judge heard the details,
he agreed to order Aubrey’s parent to stay away. So what were they doing? The
Cincinnati Inquirer has the surprising accusations, which include the parents
installing tracking software on Aubrey’s electronics (emphasis added):
Despite her good grades and success
in musical shows, David and Julie Ireland often drove 600 miles from
Leawood, Kan., to visit their daughter unannounced. They accused her of
using illegal drugs, promiscuity and suffering from mental
woes. She insisted none of that was true and asked them to stop, but their
accusations escalated. They informed her department head she had mental issues
that could force them to go to court to have her treated.

C-SPAN CALLER ASKS ABOUT THIRD OBAMA TERM — HEAR THE ANSWER HERE
Posted on December 29, 2012 at 1:45pm by
Mytheos Holt
Those who’ve listened to C-SPAN’s
live call-in shows with particular guests know that occasionally people call in
with questions or comments that, from a certain perspective, might strain
reasonability. Certainly that was the case this morning, when historian Brendan
Doherty faced a strange question from a caller named Lawrence from the Bronx.
“My question is that um, Mr.
Brendan, do you think they can amend the Constitution so that the President can
run for three terms?” Lawrence asked. He also wondered if Democrats could
plausibly take back the House of Representatives in 2014.
Before Republicans could reach
for the smelling salts, however, Doherty gave a reassuring answer on both
fronts. Hear his response below, courtesy of Mediaite:
A caller identified as Lawrence from the Bronx, New York, asked C-SPAN
guest Brendan Doherty Saturday whether he
believed the constitution could be amended so that President Obama could run
for three terms. If that wouldn’t be possible, Lawrence continued, could the
Democrats “overwhelmingly” take back the House in 2014?
Doherty recently authored, “The
Rise Of The President’s Permanent Campaign,” a book that examines whether a
President’s time spent campaigning can be separated from time spent governing
in recent years. He fielded the caller’s question as best as he could,
answering honestly, “The prospect of amending the Constitution to allow a
president to serve more than two terms…is tremendously unlikely. ”
Bill Clinton wished that he could
run for another term at the end of his presidency, Doherty said, but it wasn’t
possible. He also noted the Constitution had only been amended 27 times – 10 of
those amendments being the Bill of Rights – and that “amendments are hard to
get through.” Unfortunately for the caller, Doherty said, “I don’t see any
grassroots support to let a president serve a third term.”
He also answered Lawrence’s
second question in the negative, telling him he believed chances were “slim”
for Democrats to “take the House back.”

TECHNOLOGY
HACKERS COULD LAUNCH THEIR OWN
SATELLITES TO CREATE AN ‘UNCENSORABLE INTERNET’
Posted
on January 3, 2012 at 10:57am by
Liz Klimas
The German hacker group Chaos
Computer Club recently held a conference in Berlin — the Chaos
Communication Congress – where they proposed launching their own
satellites into space as way to ensure freedom of the Internet. As a longer
term goal, they also seek to put the first hacker on the moon.
BBC reports Hackerspace Global Grid (HGG) was proposed partially in response to the Stop
Online Piracy Act (SOPA) being discussed in the United States. The proposed SOPA would protect against copyright
infringement and is supported by those in Hollywood and in the music industry,
but others like Google, Facebook, Twitter and Wikipedia think the legislation could lead to Internet censorship. It has even
been considered by these big names and many others, if SOPA passes, to go dark
as a “nuclear option” to get their point across.
BBC has more on Hackerspace:
“The first goal is an
uncensorable internet in space. Let’s take the internet out of the control of
terrestrial entities,” [Nick] Farr said.
[...]
In the open-source spirit of
Hackerspace, [Armin] Bauer and some friends came up with the idea of a
distributed network of low-cost ground stations that can be bought or built by
individuals.
Used together in a global
network, these stations would be able to pinpoint satellites at any given time,
while also making it easier and more reliable for fast-moving satellites to
send data back to earth.
“It’s kind of a reverse GPS,” Mr.
Bauer said.
“GPS uses satellites to calculate
where we are, and this tells us where the satellites are. We would use GPS
co-ordinates but also improve on them by using fixed sites in precisely-known locations.”
Mr Bauer said the team would have
three prototype ground stations in place in the first half of 2012, and hoped
to give away some working models at the next Chaos Communication Congress in a
year’s time.
BBC reports experts as saying the
Hackerspace initiative could work in theory but the feasibility of it being
successful would be difficult with technical aspects and financing. Prof. Alan
Woodward with the University of Surrey is reported as saying that the
communication periods available for satellites launched by amateurs are usually
brief, among other issues.
According to BBC, Farr said that
the group wants to send a person into space because they consider it
“offensive” that available technology hasn’t been used to send someone farther
than low orbit since 1972.
Cutting the
Cord on Cable TV's Pricey Monthly Bill
OK, so you can't stand to
miss Bravo's The Real Housewives
of Atlanta or those great documentaries on The History Channel (we admire your
eclectic tastes), but are those steep cable
bills making you want to pull out your hair along with the
cable wires?
Take a deep breath. The era of
digitized content is ushering in a new wave of cost-saving viewing: From
streaming-video websites to digital media providers, these alternatives to
cable TV might prompt you to chuck the cable box for good.
The High Cost of Cable
For the price that many Americans
pay for cable TV, they can enjoy a mini vacation. A digital cable package
from Comcast,
for example, costs $551.98 per year, just for the basics.
Comcast's high-end premium package -- complete with on-demand channels -- will set you back $1,277 annually. But you're likely to find much of the same programming by turning to a range of less expensive -- or even free -- options.
Comcast's high-end premium package -- complete with on-demand channels -- will set you back $1,277 annually. But you're likely to find much of the same programming by turning to a range of less expensive -- or even free -- options.
The first step is to take
inventory of what you like to watch so that you can tune into the alternatives.
Free TV
Free TV
If your TV watching includes
shows from the big broadcast networks, CBS, NBC andABC offer
full episodes of most of their shows online -- as do cable channels, such as Comedy Central and MTV -- all for free.
If you want a broader selection
of programming from a single source, tap an online TV site, the best known,
perhaps, is Hulu. The online video
service offers hit shows, movies and clips from 225 content providers,
including FOX, NBC Universal, ABC and PBS, as well as from movie studios like MGM and Lionsgate. And although advertisements
appear during regular commercial breaks, there are much fewer ads to endure
online than on television.
Other online TV sites have
followed Hulu's lead, offering a different mix of content. These include Fancast, owned by Comcast; TV.com, which is owned by CBS; and Veoh, which features content from CBS,
ABC, The WB and Viacom's MTV Networks, among
others.
Also carrying Viacom productions
is Joost, with content from
MTV Networks, BET Networks and
Paramount Pictures.
If you're a classic TV buff,
check out In2TV for your
nostalgia fix. Rabid sports fans should take advantage of ESPN.go.com, where they can access ESPN3 for live sports. While not every
TV game is available online, you can watch thousands of live games and sports
events (such as the World Cup) enhanced with statistics and live chat.
Pay Options
If these free sites don't fully
feed your TV addiction, consider stepping up to pay options with wider
selection and more choice. At $7.99 a month, there's Hulu Plus, where content is available
via four kinds of screens: TVs, computers, mobile phones and tablets. What's
more, there's a wider and deeper selection of programming. For example, every
episode of a show's current season is available -- not just a handful of
trailing episodes.
Also at $7.99 a month, you can
subscribe to Netflix, where members
watch unlimited movies and TV episodes from the company's on-demand
video-streaming library. And the videos can be streamed to a wide range of
devices -- including TVs (through Blu-ray players), Internet-connected TVs and
Xbox 360s, as well as computers and iPads.
And once again, for sports
junkies, there's MLB.tv.
For $80 a year, you'll be able to stream, for example, every regular season
major league baseball game -- with a few exceptions -- directly to your
computer, live or on-demand.
Connecting to Your TV
By now you might be asking:
"But what if I want to easily watch my shows and movies the old-fashioned
way -- on a TV?"
These days, pretty much every
major gaming console -- PlayStation 3, Nintendo's Wii and Xbox 360 -- allows
you to stream online video to your television. Also, many of the most recent
Blu-ray players should also be able to stream content from the web.
If you want to expand the breadth
of content you're streaming onto your TV, consider investing in a media
streaming box such as the Roku Digital
Video Player for about $99. This media box allows you to stream
television shows and movies from the Internet onto your television. (For the
technically challenged, check out Howcast's video, "How to
Connect Your Laptop to Your Television.")
Another popular (and affordable) option is Apple TV. For the upfront cost of $99, this sleek little box allows you to rent your favorite TV show a day after it airs through iTunes for 99 cents per episode. Movie rentals start at $2.99. And just like watching a DVD, you can fast forward through opening credits or pause to take a break. If you have a Netflix streaming account, you can also watch movies and television shows through Apple TV.

These services also include

an Entourage or Weeds fan, for example, you
can catch those shows for less than what you'd pay for subscribing to those
premium channels.
There are more expensive
streaming options, like the Logitech Revue --
which works in tandem with Google TV -- and the Boxee Box, but for most casual television
viewers, the options above should suffice.
Final Savings
Final Savings
Let's say you...
Pay $7.99 a month to Netflix for
your movies.
Buy three full seasons worth of
your favorite cable series -- about 13 episodes a season -- at 99 cents a pop
and $99 for an Apple TV box.
Watch your network shows for free
on Hulu.
And for $80 a year, throw MLB.tv
into the mix, so that that your husband can watch sports to his heart's
content.
That's about $315 per year for a wide range of viewing.
That annual $1,300 cable bill is
starting to sound pretty high about now, huh?

GUESS WHO OBAMA IS GIVING RAISES TO…
Posted

Jason Howerton
President
Barack Obama’s newest executive order put an end to the pay freeze on federal
employees, giving some federal workers a raise, including Vice President Joe
Biden.
Biden will
earn $231,900 beginning March 2013, a roughly $6,000 bump from the previous
year,The Weekly Standard reports,
citing official disclosure forms.
Members of
the House and Senate will also get a small pay increase of $900 as annual
compensation for members of Congress will jump to $174,900 in 2013.
President Obama’s executive order lays
out the new pay schedule:
They may not
be huge pay increases, but the timing of the executive order is interesting as
Obama and Congress are currently trying to avoid going over the so-called
“fiscal cliff. Meanwhile, Americans are tightening their belts and preparing
for potentially higher taxes.
Finally, a
pay raise seems to indicate that Congress and other federal employees have been
doing a good enough job to warrant one. Do you think Congress and federal
employees like Joe Biden deserve a raise?
