Republican President Candidates remember who you are and where you came from

Recently I have been listening to some expert pundits on national TV talk about Americans who have been receiving federal support. Some of the people have been looking down their noses at some of the people who are less fortunate than themselves. Not the lease of them being Poor white and people of color. We have been told that these groups have been drinking at the federal trough for years. Also we have been told they don’t want to work, don’t know how to work and they are always running from work. I would like to set the records straight today.

In this country over the last forty years or so the deck has been stacked against us, each time one of us breaks from the herd try to improve our lot in life someone or events is there trying to drag us back into the dirt from which we all come from. Most of these events are not controlled by us but rather by someone else. In most cases by someone who have more political power or economical power to rule over us. It seem that no matter where we turn events are there to divert our efforts. I know what you are thinking you can control that yes, I would agree you can and should control as much of that as you can. Every time you get knocked down get up dust yourself off and get moving toward your goals. Never allow anything to distract or divert you from your duly appointed destination.

I know all of these things but allow me to tell you a true story about my life. Before the economical melt down in 2008 prior to the stock market almost crash. My wife and I had been discussing our blessings because we had been blessed by the almighty creator. She asked me honey what is our net worth? I said to her I don’t know dear let me figure it out. So I went into my home office and put pen to paper and added all of our assets up. Sometime later that day I had all of the figures written down so I could give my wife a clear understanding of our financial situation. I said to her dear we are near millionaires she was surprise at the figures I presented to her in our meeting. As a matter of fact after compiling these figures I couldn’t believe what I had written on the paper that day so I check and recheck to make sure I was correct. My numbers were correct and I told her that they were as I had stated them. The number that I stated was a high six figures my wife almost hit the floor. I said to her by 2010 if all goes well we will be millionaires.

Well faith intervened and for reasons not known to us we didn’t make it. At least not at that time and I must tell you we have not recovered from that free fall. We lost over fifty percent of our net worth during the housing and stock market free fall. Keep in mind we had been working for forty years trying to build what had been destroyed by people whom I have never met nor would we ever meet. Yet Republican Politicians blame me for the nightmare they created by their poor management and super greed.

I have said all of that to say this, Republican Presidential candidates have stated many times during this campaign season that the poor is lazy, people of color are not willing to work. If you have been paying attention to their rhetoric you have heard it all. They have tried to change the national subject from jobs and the economic and you know why; republicans in the 2010 election they campaigned on job, jobs. What did they do they have been working overtime on social issues. They have even convinced their right wing constituencies that they are not responsive for the economic mess this country is in now. They have been telling their listeners President Obama is the reason we are where we are.

Republicans are now on two tracks trying to confused their right wing constituencies and as many other as possible so they can steal the election. Let me give you my take on this; one the GOP won the 2010 election they went to war on women “GOP War on Women” with such issues as Personhood amendments in twenty states, Plan Parenthood in every state by trying to cut off what they call abortions being done by Plan Parenthood. Plan Parenthood provides medical care for women with financial resources to obtain the treatment elsewhere. After that blew up in their faces with the Susan B Komen debacle; the republican politicians was still searching for something to hang the President with. They thought they had found it with contraception’s debacle made possible by President Obama administration. Fortunately the President realized that he needed to get out in front of the curve by changing the plan to support the Catholic Church everyone thought that was enough to close the controversy. However, Republicans politicians were not satisfied with that they are continuing to psycho babble about a close issue. Rep Darrell Issa (R-  CA) Chairman of House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, decide to hold a hearing. Democrats tore into House Oversight Committee Chairman Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) for preventing women from testifying before a hearing examining the Obama administration’s new regulation requiring employers and insurers to provide contraception coverage to their employees. Republicans oppose the administration’s rule and have sponsored legislation that would allow employers to limit the availability of birth control to women.

Ranking committee member Elijah Cummings (D-MD) had asked Issa to include a female witness at the hearing, but the Chairman refused, arguing that “As the hearing is not about reproductive rights and contraception but instead about the Administration’s actions as they relate to freedom of religion and conscience, he believes that Ms. Fluke is not an appropriate witness.”

And so Cummings, along with the Democratic women on the panel, took their request to the hearing room, demanding that Issa consider the testimony of a female college student. But the California congressman insisted that the hearing should focus on the rules’ alleged infringement on “religious liberty,” not contraception coverage, and denied the request. Reps. Carolyn Maloney (D-NY) and Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) walked out of the hearing in protest of his decision, citing frustration over the fact that the first panel of witnesses consisted only of male religious leaders against the rule. Holmes Norton said she will not return, calling Issa’s chairmanship an “autocratic regime.”

Rep Darrell Issa had his head in the sand by not allowing Ms Fluke (third year law student) and more important than that she is a women who could bring some credence to this farce. To have a meeting about women and having only men testifying before the committee is outrageous. Since when did men give birth to children and use birth control design for women. If my understanding is correct the same people who don’t have a problem with men getting virago paid for have a big problem for women getting birth control paid for.

Correct me if I am wrong but, I thought republicans were the party of responsibilities each person was responsible for their own conduct and behavior. If this is true, why are so many republicans on the dole taking monies from the national treasurer. According to them everyone is supposed to take charge of their lives and support their own. I guess that only applies to everyone but not republicans. I just saw a map that shows the states and area in states that gets the most money from government. You are going to be shock those areas are all Blue states (Republicans).

There is more, don’t go away before you check this out if; you are receiving money from any of the following sources you are on the take from government:

Military full pay and benefits
Military retired pay and benefits
Government full Pay and benefits
Government retired pay and benefits
Social Security retired pay and benefits
Social Security medical pay and benefits
Medicare benefits
Medicaid benefits
Unemployment pay
Student loans
Income tax returns
Food Stamps or whatever it called today
Public housing

I can hear some of you now saying you have paid into the system therefore you have earned your benefits and I completely agree and so have I. my point is for those of you who look down your nose at others who are less fortunate than you or even a different trough get over it.

During this difficult time there are lots of people who are not in the one percent making 300k or more. Life has treated you well please enjoy while you can because that too will change. If you are doing real well don’t forget your friends and neighbors some of them may need your help.
